History

Expomédica was founded in 1987. It’s a family SME company based on the long experience of its founding partner – Mr. Mário Sogalho - who since 1955 has been linked to the pharmaceutical industry and mainly to the medical devices.

At the beginning, just working a small number of products for Plastic Surgery and Orthopedics, we have been expanding our activity to other specialties over the years. As a result of market recognition, we have not only attracted new customers, but also new and reputable international partners, who trusted in our company to distribute their products in Portugal. Today we distribute more than 40 companies and sell a range of more than 30,000 products.

In 1997, when completing 10 years of activity, the family second generation join the company. This contributed to a greater growth momentum and increased motivation.

In 2024, as we celebrate 37 years of activity, the balance is quite positive. However, more than ever, we are perfectly aware that there is still a lot to be done in an increasingly open and competitive market, in which threats are increasingly bigger and stronger. But we "are not passing through, we are here to stay!"
